What were in-person classes like?
RAD enrolled students for its in-person Tree of Knowledge Course. This was a more challenging, in-depth, and interactive science course compared to the online counterpart.
Here, we moved away from the traditional teaching model where the teacher instructs according to a syllabus. Instead, students took the initiative by asking questions about the world around them, focusing on curiosity and scientific intuition.
These questions wered turned into 1 hour 30 minute lessons that cover the topic. Each class ended with a 10-minute Kahoot quiz to gauge teaching effectiveness and gave students a chance to quickly assess how much they've learned.
What Will Students Learn In-Person?
The In-person Class Also has Several Branching Ideas.
The class will build a tree that links all of their concepts together to show how science isn’t really a structured curriculum, but more of an interconnected web of information.
Students will learn additional skills in math as well as covering information about the rise of generative AI.
Students will do their own research and assemble findings to practice presenting and honing their own critical thinking skills.
